The Hitchhiker
Driving through a road less traveled with my father, my brother, my younger sister and I decided to take a nap in the back of the car after being awake so early. About a half an hour later, I woke up to the sound of chatter coming from my father, but I also heard the voice of a complete stranger. I opened my eyes and saw a man sitting next to my father, and he said he picked up this hitchhiker because he seemed anxious for help. It only took me a few seconds to realize that something wasn't right about this hitchhiker...He looked back and grinned at me, showing me his lack of dental hygiene and then turned around. As I continued to stare at him from the backseat, something told me this man was vicious, and my father fell for his deceit. Regardless of what ill feelings I have towards my father, he was a very kind of generous man. As we approached a tunnel, the man had once again turned around and told me he wanted to show me something. He reached into the groin of his pants and pulled out a black pistol, and my heart quickly sank to the ground. He was just waving it around carelessly, and he must have felt my uneasiness as he slowly aimed his gun to my heart. He laughed and said not to worry, he wasn't going to shoot. I didn't take his word, and as soon as we exited the tunnel, I told my father to pull over and pretended be car sick. I told my siblings to come out of the car with me, and I began to cry and tell them I couldn't believe he would put us in this kind of danger. I told them I knew something wasn't right about this hitchhiker, and I refused to get back in the car. I began walking away from my family and suddenly there after I heard a gunshot.
